My 3 Favorite Cookbooks

I'm not one for cookbooks honestly. I prefer to have an idea of a recipe and then wing it or  look up a recipe then alter it to fit my needs and preferences. However, I have a few cookbooks that I just couldn't live without and I highly recommend them to you if you: 1. like to cook, 2. want to cook, or 3. ever eat.

I love this book because it provides a couple hundred pages of recipes for babies, children, parents and all people of all ages. There are many healthy meat recipes as well as a vast amount of vegan and vegetarian recipes. In addition, there are recipes for all meals of the day and all the recipes are simple and healthy! This book is clear, sensible, easy to follow and provides the reader with lots of good information on what makes a food wholesome and healthy.

This is one of my all time favorite books. It's a cookbook for fermenting foods which are SO healthy for us! Did you know that for every you cell in your body there are 100 foreign bacteria cells that help us survive and function? That's a lot of bacteria in our body that we need! Fermented foods help us keep that bacteria thriving and healthy, therefore keeping ourselves thriving and healthy. With this book, making fermented foods like kombucha, kimchi, pickles, ginger beer, yogurt and kefir because fun and easy. Wild Fermentation is informative, easy to follow and packed full of recipes.

This book can be shocking for some people- it talks about the importance of fats in our diet. I love the information in this book (it's mind blowing!) and the recipes provided. It is such a breath of fresh air from the general format of a regular cook book that it's excited to open a page and see what Sally Fallon (leader in the nutrition world) has to say today!
